Post by reddragons »

So i got this new boost gauge. hooked it up and everything. well anyway, the units are in Hg so i'm not sure this is what i want.

so i was looking around and i've seen some gauges that are inches Hg and PSI. so what's the deal here?

also it goes up to 10 (in Hg). when i even kind of got on it , it goes wayyy past, up to about 20 or more. so it kinda sucks.

inHg = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InHg

Typically one uses PSI for boost and inHg for vacuum measurements in an engine.

'Bar' is another unit by which pressure is measured. Generally only seen in european cars, though.
Kg/cm is another one commonly used.

i guess it wouldn't be so bad except the g auge markings only go up to 10 in HG, so about 5 psi., and after that it's nothing for the rest.

Is that for positive pressure? Generally in/Hg is only used to measure vacuum.
Better yet, can you post a picture of the gauge?
