Hey there. Was wondering how much torque can the stock 4EAT trans take? Im going to be throwing some serious power one day and it would be nice to know.
Thanks!

100% stock 4EAT? Also, define serious torque. A SS 4EAT with the Trans-Go reprogramming kit will still burn the clutches on a twin-scroll GT3076R, for reference. They burn very slowly, but still burn. BMS transmissions out of Australia is who builds trannys for Rigoli, using the SS case. The SS auto already has the big bands, and you can add one more friction plate and steel to the low clutch. They sell a billet servo piston and a fancy high clutch, among a few other things. I can get more details if you want.

Serious torque will be from a VF39 with a stage 3 ecu chip...which i hope is still on revtronics mind.
For this other details on tranny mods, upgrades sure! I want my 4EAT take everything i do to it! Im not after the most powerful off the wall power hungry car out there. I just want the trans to take what ever a stage 3 ecu chip will throw, and yes they have not finished stage 2 yet. Im just going to raise everything kinda...If you get my drift.
Im just after having good reliability with a higher torqued car.
Cool!

Ok. After some more research i come to find that the 4eat with some minor mods can handle most anything that im going to be throwing at it. I would just need to mod the torque converter and the valve body. High stall i would guess for the TC and for the valve body i would guess make it into a "manual shift" body.
Any other ideas?

You won't have a "manual shift" valve body with the Trans-Go reprogramming kit. It just changes the line pressure for your shifts, so they are much more direct with less slip. As far as torque convertor, get one that matches your turbo.
It all depends on what you want to spend. Like I said, you can stuff an extra friction plate and steel in the low clutch, and get the nice high clutch and servo piston from BMS. It takes a good three months to get them though. Also, you have to fully go through the tranny to install them though.
The valve body kit and a TC with help a lot. Just don't expect it to last forever. Autos don't really break, they just burn.

Aaaa yes. The fact that they burn makes total sense to me. Seeing that all and auto trans is, is just a bunch of sliping clutch packs. So really when it comes down to it you never know when your trans is going to go... Which is not a big deal to me. If it happens tho at least ill know what to do now!
Thanks!

I need the phase 1, billet 2-4 servo assembly. Can you help?

Dan (93forestpearl) hasn't been on the board for a while. He has his email listed in his signature. I'd try shooting him an email.
