I'm trying to get parts together for my exhaust. It's going to be 3" all the way from the turbo back. I've already got a 3" downpipe and I think I've located a Borla XSPRO muffler with a 3" inlet and now I need a resonator and maybe a high flow cat.
Where do I get a resonator from? The only ones that the exhaust companies seem to sell are in catback systems and I'm not buying a cat back system. Do they make them in 3"?

Look for a flowmaster unit, or maybe a magnaflow one. high flow cats are expensive. screw the environment there are plenty of diesels and old muscle cars that are already screwing things up, just run it straight back.
Just make sure its quiet so the fuzz doens't catch wind and pull you over. Tickets for catless exhausts are expensive

Wonder if that guy I sold my 89 toyota pickup ever got caught with his catless exhaust. I took the stock cat off that was all plugged up and nasty and cut the mounting flanges off and welded them to a straight piece of pipe the same length and bolted it in place of the cat.
I'll check magnaflow for a resonator. Does it need to be 3" like the rest of the exhaust? I would assume it would.

You could keep the 3" down pipe and go for a 2.5" the rest of the way. That will ultimately limit power if you plan to go big, but if not it will be more quiet and easier to find a resonator for. Not to mention it will fit better

Yeah that's an option but I'd rather go 3" all the way because I'm sure in the future I'll want more power and the more if breathes the better.

I know this is old, but I just put a resonator in.
I found a Moroso 94051 3" in and 3" out on amazon for around $50.
I honestly only noticed a minimal difference in tone. I should have just opted for a quieter muffler.

Thanks guys I had forgotten all about this thread. Funny thing is, I saw it and was thought,"hey I need a resonator, I'll check out that thread." Turns out, it was my thread! Haha.
I just ordered said Bullet resonator 3" inlet 3" outlet along with 3" borla muffler. Wasn't sure if I could need offset or center inlet on the muffler so I chose offset in hopes that it would allow for better options when installing.

$160 for muffler and resonator. Not too bad. Shipped I might add.Part # Item Price Qty Price
