Who has 150K or more miles on their Turbo Legacy?

Post by Kris Lee »

Group,

I am new to LegacyWorks and have been keeping up on topics for a while. I have over 158,000 miles on my 92 Turbo Wagon. I've go the 4EAT so I cannot atest to your clutch, but I know the rest of my Wagon is as crisp as when it was new.

I am approaching the 150K mark, currently at 144,000 with original

clutch. Still going strong.

Who has 150K or more miles on their Turbo Legacy?

Post by Toby Corkindale »

Thanks good.. It's nice to know that our cars should continue performing
well for ages! What is 182,000 miles in kms? About 300,000 kms? Thats huge!

Everyone told me that i was crazy buying a turbo car with almost 200,000 kms
on the clock.. But for some reason Subaru seem to have come up with a design
thats actually reliable as well as powerful. What's their secret?

I think thats about 125000 miles, so i'm not up to 150K miles yet, but i'm
pretty sure this wagon will make it there ;) (specially when its 1600 kms
round-trip to Melbourne, and 2800 or something to sydney)

For the record, my liberty RS turbo is over 200,000kms, has had every
service done at a Subaru dealership before I bought it (I at least change
oil etc myself), and was totally stock when i bought. (Right down to the
tape deck and floor protector matts).
Only thing thats been replaced according to the logbook is the clutch (fair
enough), and it had the noisy-lifters fix done early on under warranty.

By comparison, I remember when I lived at home my parent's cars couldn't
last for more than 10,000 to 15,000 kms without something breaking.. I think
the Nissan they had went thru three motors, two gearboxes, and a multitude
of clutches in its 180,000 km life! hehe and that was with conservative >40
yr olds driving it..
