I have an interesting problem. I was a little low on oil so i put in
some oil but it was a little too much. The first atttempt to start
the motor it turned over and then died instantly. I'm like ok that's
weird. so i drained the oil to a reasonable level and tried to start
it again but same problem.
i'm now guessing it's bad timing of the over full oil situation and
some sensor broke. the sel codes don't tell me anything useful(just
tells me 5 sensors are bad) it was running the second before i put
oil in it. i disconnected the battery thinking maybe it was
something that needs to be reset, but it didn't seem to help.
anyone have some ideas?
thanks

i pulled the power after i checked the codes... but it says:
-engine coolant temp sensor (had this one go bad on me before and saw
this exact behavior!)
-knock sensor
-02 sensor
-atmospheric pressure
-air flow sensor

I am sure others will respond similarly but before investing in a new fuel pump check, wiggle, fiddle with the connection under the rear seat on the left hand side.
5 months after replacing my fuel pump I had the same problem. But the connector was apparently corroded. It has been 2 months now working fine.
Some have removed the smap connector and soldered the wires together......

it's looking like walbro is my answer. I was surfing i-club in
search of answers. It looks like there are few available options.
The GSS307($99), GSS340(GSS341), and GSS342($109). The GS307 seems
to be lower flow, but capable of putting out 255lph. I'm buying from
http://www.jdsperformance.com I did read a few complaints about
noise, but i guess some are worse than others. I will give feedback
on my particular install.
Here seem to be useful links about the fuel pumps. mostly wrx
specific, but the rs2.5 is also mentioned.

Ok i guess i gave a bit of misinformation. There is a specific kit
for the 91-94 legacy. it contains the walbro GSS278/GSS315/GSS341.
it comes with a specific pickup filter, a wire adapter, and short
piece of hose and clamps. it's in the $99-110 range.
I was going to purchase it but due to my need to have my car this
weekend I have had to buy the stock fuel pump. oh well.
