Just thought I'd introduce myself to the group. I live in Noosa Australia and have just bought a 92 RS Turbo sedan in Gunmetal grey in excellent condition. The car is absolutely standard which is a definite rarity in Oz. I am a Subaru trained mechanic but am now unfortunately working on Mazdas.
I've been a Subaru fan since I did my apprenticeship at the local dealership and I'm stoked to be able to finally play with my own car instead of everyone elses.
One thing that surprised me a little was the popularity of Subarus in the U.S. I wasn't even aware that there were turbo liberties.. errr Legacy's in the US and I'd never heard of EJ22 sohc turbo's. It's been interesting anyway.

Cheers. Al.

Good to see another Queenslander Alan :D
I live in Brisbane and drive a fairly modified Liberty LX.
It now has a pretty serious drivetrain :) and the EJ22 is slightly
worked. Am looking at slapping a turbo onto it later in the year!
Might have to meet up some time.
seeya round, George.

Hi George,
Converting an LX or GX to RS specs using a front cut was my other option if I couldn't find an RS. It isn't a difficult job if you use a front cut and it would make your LX into a stealth machine(no scoop). Let's do it : ) Talk to Rolin Automotive Imports in Andrews on the gold coast, they have cuts for $1800 and the guy there knows his Subarus.

Cheers. Al.

Al, what is their phone no.? I am up in North Queensland where RS parts are relatively scarce and I need a driver's side sunvisor. Apparently, these were dodgy and have broken on most cars. How are yours? What colour did you say your car was and where did you get it?

Hi Ross,
There phone number is 07 55938533. I normally talk to a guy named John. As far as the sunvisor goes you probably won't get one easily as they are all like that(except mine, thankfully). A fix we used to do in the dealership was buy some stick on velcro to hold it up to the hood lining, it works ok and is virtually unnoticeable. For non performance Subaru parts call Sunspares on 07 54727222. My car is Gunmetal Grey and I got it from a prestige car dealer in Brisbane who traded it on an ALFA 156. The guy should have traded it on a B4 because the Alfa's clutchless gearbox died on the way home from the caryard and he hasn't driven since - waitng for parts.

Yeah, in regards to the conversions i am pretty aware of that, i am a
member of a club based in Brisbane called the Backyard boys who
basically do every modification possible to subarus eg. one of them
(as friend of mine) currently has a EJ20-TT Brumby :)

http://pub5.ezboard.com/bthebackyardboyssubaru

I will turbo the EJ22 first to see what kind of crazy power i can
achieve (it's already pretty modified), but then i will rebuild an
EJ20-T from 2 older ones to create a pretty hefty setup in the mean
time.
I have heard of rollin imports, but have never spoken to them. We
usually deal with alljap but i'm not a big fan of the owner, so might
give rollin a try! :D

Thanks for the reply, (might have to meet up some time) George.

I've done the Velcro thing before.....it works so-so for a while.....however the sticky stuff on the backing off it usually "un sticks" in very hot weather......so it probably wouldn't last too long in your guys warmer climate.......

But it is very simple fix.

There is a guy that supposedly has a fix for the floppy visor thing.

S-Wings Stuff.
Email : WINGS1200S@aol.com
Phone number : 1-877-638-9664.
Address : S-Wings Stuff 1196 so Bannock st Denver CO USA 80223

Try shooting him an email, see if he can help you. I don't remember his name......I think it's mike, but not sure.
