Allan,
what type of rim have you got the 225/ 50 16 tyrs on ? My RS has WRX MY00 16" rims with 205/ 55 16 fitted and with this width the whell/tyre just only fits as there is hardly any space left between the tyre and the strut on the rear suspension. In fact if i have had people in the back you can see where the tyre has touched the strut...only just though. It is by no means a problem but i certainly can not fit a wider tyre with this rim and offset. Even though the 225 / 50 16 comb is the same dia it is slightly wider on the rim.
cheers, Rod ...in oz
perhaps this should be discussed on the Libertyrsturbo@yahoogroups also.........

Hi guys, I am in Brisbane, Aus. My 93 RS had standard final drives
and 5th gear, but mixed box ratios from other models and WRX to
change performance in gears a little, and make getting away a little
easier, anyhow I have 225.50.16 Dunlop FM901's, and have often
wondered why all the cops coning in the other direction wave at me on
the highway at 100kph indicated at 3000 rpm!!!!!!
allan nicol.
ps be interested in meeting other RS owners in Bris to chew the fat.
