is jecs safe/better

Post by Lego »

im running 480cc injectors and i need to make it not so rich so i put a jecs maf on it and grounded the blue wire.

no CEL but my narrowband shoes partly lean partly optimal when getting on boost but is it safe to run this jecs maf if im running 17 psi or should i go back to hitachi?

Without a piggyback or other way to tell the ECU it's got larger injectors/different MAF, it won't do you much good.

well does anyone have a wideband i can barrow around my area, im willing to pay if i can use it.

with a wideband i can really see if the jecs does make an ok match with 480's since i already run rich

The stock ECU can't handle the 480...the max are 440s, based on info on this site. I've done both and 440s run fine, but rich. The 480s are too much. The JECs allows more air, but the ECU still doesn't know what to do w/it and the bigger fuel supply....it ain't that smart!

If you want to do it safely, in addition to a piggyback, I'd also consider the REVTRONIX chip.

Have fun,
Td

no, not necessarily. i ran a 14.2 with 480cc's and with a decent reaction time.

hitachi maxes out around 155 g/s while the jecs maxes out around 205-220 g/s airflow.

Right, the stock ECU doesn't know how to 100% completely handle the larger MAF nor injectors (yes, 440cc's "work" but it's not perfect at all).
