After my e-brake lever release button broke on me (story) I thought it'd be a good idea to grab these last time I was at the junk yard.
I have a tan and a black button. Each $2 shipped. Both have a hairline crack on the center shaft, but all of them do now due to their age. Read below for installation that will keep them on for good.
These screw on and have a spring behind them, I've included the springs too. Over time these plastic buttons get brittle and part of the threaded portion breaks off and the button goes flying. To keep mine on I chased the thread so that they went as deep as possible in the button (I did this on the two buttons for sale too).
To install put some glue on the threads in the button (I like Gorilla Glue because it expands). Put the spring in the handbrake handle (don't forget!). Screw the button on as much as possible. It'll look odd being slightly more recessed than usual, but it will work fine and shouldn't come off.
