'02 Wrx suspension. Raise or lower??

Post by Slow Hatch »

Getting a set of springs & struts from an '02 Wrx. I'm looking to gain some ground clearance will these do, or are they going to make my car lower?? Thanks

I just put '06 WRX Wagon complete tops/springs/struts on my '90 Wagon...and I'd say your going to be equal or a bit lower. The front sits a bit higher then the rear, though....I took measurements but I also run 205/60R-16's (for now), which are taller than either the stock Legacy or WRX.

If you want to GAIN clearance, '96-99 Outback or '98 - 2008 Forester will give you a couple inches, if you use the whole assembly (I've had both OB and FXTs on my car HERE). I don't know what mixing/matching springs/struts will do, but there are posts on here that should help.

The fronts will install easily; the backs depend on your year Legacy, as they changed the top hat bolt pattern in the early/mid-90's. So, either swap the hats or 'ghetto' it like I did and drill a new hole...been working fine for 20K miles.
