I noticed this this other day, the Legacy Sedan tail lamps look like old Acura Legend tails). The Legend definitely looks more dated, but it's the same overall design. I have shown the 87-88 Legend, followed by the 89-90 Legend. Then I also noticed that the Legend also looks kinda like the early 90's Nissan Maximas. Any other cars out there like this?
I am borrowing this pic from PhyrraM, hope he doesn't mind

My point is that on all these cars, the lights are the full width of the tail. And the red portion makes up roughly 2/3rds of the lens height, the rest is either white or orange.

The pre-face rear is much better looking that the post-face.
PRE-FACE RULES
Gary
Not to reopen the alleged can of worms... but I don't know what pre-face or post-face means. Did Subaru so some kind of appearance facelift in the middle of the SS model run?
Pre-facelift looks ten years older than it really is. And the chrome bites. The headlights suck. Turbos don't even get different grills.
Post-facelift FTW!

I like post face rear end but I like the bumper from the pre face much better. The grill from the post face looks much better though and the headlights I hear put out more light.
I want a post face SS with a pre face bumper. The post face cars don't have that ugly legacy badge under the rear windows either.

Did the facelift coincide with the airbag/steering wheel upgrade? I hate that ugly non-airbag wheel. It looks like it would be comfortable for the 8-and-4 hand position though.

I love the chrome, it makes the car look classy and matches the side trim (which I like). Just replace the head lights with EDM's and you golden and they have the angled top and look more aggressive. The '91 SS does get its own one year only front bumper and hood/scoop, it’s the most exclusive gen 1 legacy. It also has the LSD rear diff and factory oil cooler that the post-face step children dont get.
'91 SS Rio Red 5MT is the best gen 1 Legacy... Na Na N-Na Na

No matter how broke I am... I always seem to find two cents.

Bahahaha that made me laugh. Although, I'm gonna have to say that a Pearl White '91 SS 5MT is just a bit cooler, but it's ok. Yours is right up there with it

exactly, no one expects a car that looks that old to be fast, aka pre-face is better and like gary said the edm headlights take car of lighting problems
