As weird as he was, MJ was a musical icon without a doubt. I can remember back when EVERYONE was a Michael Jackson fan.

If Latoya never shows up again, my theory about them being the same person will be confirmed.

And at least nobody's going to be spotting him, like Elvis, all over the place as they sure as hell won't find anyone else that can be mistaken for him. Except Latoya, of course, but only if my theory is wrong.

holy shit I thought I was the only crazy person around thinking this lmao!

As for michael jackson I think there comes a point where you could be the greatest person on the planet but if you touch a child in the wrong way I don't care if you pulled my mother from a flaming wreck and saved her life, I'm going to cut your balls off and feed them to you.

and Don't you O.J. lovers out there start in with the "he was never convicted" bullshit!

Was just talking about this with my girlfriend a couple minutes ago. She thinks he never molested kids. I think he did. Why would you pay someone off if you were innocent?

He was not right in the head. Someone who dangles their child off a balcony is not right mentally and it's no surprise to me that he molested kids.

My GF was saying whether he did it or not he will always be a legend and his music was great and all that. I don't care what he did, if he molested kids nobody should support him, no matter how great his music was.

To me, that just shows how sick our culture is. We are willing to ignore the fact that this man most likely molested little boys just because he is famous and made a lot of hit music.

I wasn't going to open my mouth, but news of his death has not been received with unhappiness by me or most people I know...

To quote my old man "it's about time that pervert was off."

Not to belabor the point, but his influence on real music (i.e., not disposable pop crapola) was thoroughly insignificant.

I agree. Molesting kids negates all else. My ex and I have been laughing about this while some people are all upset. They actually had people on the radio crying over this! Child molester or not, they never even knew the guy. They're saying pain killers might have done him in. That sounds about right. He was weak.

And the selfish prick stole the limelight from Farrah Faucet. Couldn't have died a few days before or after? Not that I care about her, but I don't know of her doing anything to anyone and she died of cancer, not likely drug addiction.

+1 I could practically hear those vulture pieces of shit at the news stations scambling to come up with some asshole in RI who met michael jackson 20 years ago....and they did! Watching the news makes me ill. Here you have all of this preperation to honor the life of Farrah Faucet thrown to the back burner because some drug addict child molester died. And being out of work its ALL thats on the morning shows this morning.

My girlfriend hates watching the news with me and always makes me change it. I yell at the tv and tell her that they talk to me like I'm a fucking idiot.

Holy shit, we sound too much alike! Nothing gets me going like condescending entertainment masquerading as news and annoying commercials. Some of the commercials out there, with their higher volume vs. programming and the frequency of play, have me feel like I'm being assaulted. I throw tired old DVDs on just to have the background noise and not have to be violated. Fucking news, though, is all just trite garbage or horrible shit that probably does me no good to know about. The only one I like is internet BBC, though I also subject myself to CNN sometimes because I'm a masochist.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Yesterday about 15 till 6 EST, I posted on my Facebook that I thought Michael Jackson was just overreacting to his boyfriend saying he wanted to watch SpongeBob instead.

I haven't checked, but I'm sure some people want me to take that back now.

Fuck that. Even if the whole child molesting thing really isn't true (although we all know it is), he still hung that baby out of that window.

I say good riddance. I also don't care what you say, pop music, regardless of how popular it is, contributes nothing to society.

He not only stole the limelight from Farrah Fawcett but Ed McMahon as well. Like you said Steve, I don't care about either of them, but they deserve to be remembered way more than this freak.

I could not agree more..

For these reasons I have cut my subscription to cable and put the TV in the basement. I get my news from the Internet or scientific literature, where I can at least hope to read about things of importance or interest to me.

Popular culture is the toilet paper of societies, existing only to mop up the mess of the lowest common denominator, and to pick up the turd chunks that are the prominent members thereof (e.g., MJ).

Sorry for the rant, I guess I really shouldn't get started...

At 5:15 am, Thursday, June 25th, 2009, Farrah Fawcett passes away after a long battle with cancer.

Shortly after she arrives at the Pearly Gates and meets with Saint Peter.

Saint Peter said, "Farrah, you are truly an Angel and before you pass through these gates, I offer you one wish."

Farrah said, "Saint Peter, I want safety and security for all the children of the world."

Six hours later, Michael Jackson is dead.

My girlfriend got that text right after he died. It made her mad but I just laughed.

Makes me sick that people worship him whent hey know what he's done.

I hate watching the news. I hate watching TV for that matter. Except maybe a couple shows, mainly Top Gear!! My favorite show.

My gf gets mad when I play video games when I'm with her and I tell her it's the same thing as when I'm with her and she watches TV. I hate watching TV and she hates watching me play video games. But she doesn't understand that it's no different.

TV = SATAN

What's the difference between Disney movies and Michael Jackson?

Disney movies can still touch children.

I bought a ticket for his show in London. I am a Michael Jackson fan.

That doesn't mean I support his private life. It doesn't even mean I know about his private life. I don't watch TV, and I don't follow much of the celeb news. A couple of years ago my friend lost his mind when I told him I didn't know who Lindsay Lohan was.

I don't care about a celebrity's private life. Because I CAN'T care. That would require me investing my energy in paying attention to their lives. I like to invest my energy in the people that I know. I didn't know MJ.
And often when an MJ song comes on, you just have to dance to it, and that has improved some of my friendships.

So my point is, I only judge his music, and as far as pop/dance goes, it is the best.

Yey - Jokes!

They decided that since MJ is 90% plastic, they're going to melt him down into Legos so that kids can play with him for a change.

They finally did the autopsy on his body and determined the true cause of death was food poisoning. Apparently he ate an 8 year old weiner...

Heard those at work last night. From a drunk guy who got a bit out of hand as the night went on. Must have said the legos bit like 9 times. I could see people were bothered by his ripping on michael jackson and as annoying as he was getting as he got drunker, I didn't mind that part at all.
