Anyone ever put their car on a scale?

Post by RTSGVR-4 »

Has anyone on here ever put their car on a scale? If you have, what did it weigh? How about we do it like this:

Year
Trim/model
addition or reductions to weight
weight as weighed on scale

Im trying to get a feel for which trim level weighs what on the 90-94 and 95-99. I cant seem to find definitive answers, and the curb weights on mine seem incorrect. Which seems likely as the curb weight on my brothers 2.5RS is a few hundred lbs off. Thanks!

I weighed in on a scale at a drag strip before....

1992
Legacy SS 5mt no airbag
Intercooler, 16g turbo, Full 3" SS exhaust w/ up-pipe and cross-pipe, Light weight flywheel, some other mods, none weight saving.
IIRC it was 3080 lbs. That was with a box of tools in the trunk too that probably weighed around 50 lbs.

I remember that everyone was surprised cause most of the WRX sedans were weighing in around 3200+ lbs.

I weighed mine the same day as Matt. If I remember right, mine was a pig... Maybe 3800 pounds? I didn't empty out the trunk or anything (and, believe me, my trunk is full of tools and parts) and the car has a trailer hitch and drawbar on it.

At the time it was just an L. I've got a good 50-70 lb speaker box in the trunk. Plus fuel is going to probably be around 150-170 lbs at least.

Very nice Jamal.

Anything out of the ordinary to obtain that weight? Interior, trunk, spare etc.?

I didn't think the BDs were that light.

no weight reduction at all. I think I might have even had the roof racks on at the time. A lighter hood and battery would certainly be nice.
