how muxh HP/TQ gain on stock motor with 3" TBE??
i know this isn't an exact science depending on age of car, exhaust installed, etc. ABOUT how much gains does this get on average? Thanks!

I'd say it will get louder but your not going to gain much. The turbo exhaust is pretty free flowing for the factory turbo.

More torque likely due to the fact that it spools faster. So you get it earlier. Not really gaining anything. Just changing the powerband.A1Fiddler wrote:I noticed quicker spool and more torque. Can't say how much exactly.

More torque earlier is a power gain in every sense, whether or not the peak numbers change. In fact, "more power under the curve" does more to make a car faster in the real world than anything.
Quicker spool=power gain=faster car, assuming everyhing else is equal. And since a larger downpipe/exhaust almost always helps the top end as well, there's usually no sacrifices in power whatsoever.

I think you are all missing the point here. He said on a STOCK engine. I believe the stock exhaust is plenty big enough to handle the stock engine with stock turbo. If it was a restriction then maybe opening it up would improve performance.

^^^ I beg to differ.
The stock exhaust downpipe sucks. It's a plate with a 2.25" hole cut in it with a pipe welded on the back side. This is FAR from optimum. The 2.25" pipe may be 'okay' the rest of way back but it is still more restrictive than a 3" TBE.
In the progress of my car I did a 3" TBE with a simple bellmouth downpipe, rest of the engine system was stock, and I noticed a HUGE difference.
Was it 50chp, probably not, but it did step up and go quicker and harder - most definately. It does make enough of a difference that you can just about max out your MAF with just a 3"TBE and 11psi of boost with the VF11.
