Where to buy EJ22T rebuild kit

Post by tturnpaw »

Im looking for a good ej22t rebuild kit. Along with whats suggested for my setup.

Right now i have access to a ej22 non turbo engine complete, figured i would rebuild it and use my spare ej22t block and internals, with my na everything else for now (no turbo installed) and run the na ecu for the time being. The reason is so i can later install wrx heads, my extra manifold/up pipe for the turbo later on with a piggy back.

The car is a touring wagon so i still want to put a turbo back in later with wrx heads, and i acquired a ej22 n/a wagon for a parts car with a new jdm engine installed with 150psi across the board.

Since everything with the n/a engine is sound, and my tw came with an auto, id rather swap the harnesses (since im building an 86 sedan with my other ej22t, 5 speed, etc and thinned out the tw's harness for the install)

Basically, id rather work with a 5 speed n/a harness in the tw and install a piggyback later on and tune with bigger turbo etc.

Any suggestions? My spare ej22t block needs another crank (keyway stripped) and bore/hone (ridges)

FYI, you might run into exhaust clearance issues going N/A with the turbo crossmember.

subaruparts.com is where I've gotten my rebuild kits. As far as the crank goes, someone can correct me if I'm wrong but the N/A crank is the same as the turbo. The measurements are the same and they look identical.

Ive got a custom 3" in the car now. Ill just adjust it as needed.

I would like more info on the crank deal, that would be pretty killer if i can use the n/a crank with my turbo rods and pistons.

Ill have my machinist check the block to see if new pistons are needed.

Wish it were easier to track down ej25 phase one engines for my dohc conversion though.

I'd recommend a Subaru gasket kit vs. aftermarket. The subaru one will be more complete and parts will fit.

You will need to buy bearings separately.

ironically, i found an ej25d yesterday and picked it up for a steal. With a timing belt in good shape and marking paint still on the bolts!

Looks like ill be doing a 2.35 stroker when i get the chance.

Anyone know the part number for the wiseco coated stroker pistons for the ej22t?
