Got a question on interchanging parts...

Struts, spring, anti-rollbars, braces and the like.

Got a question on interchanging parts...

Post by gotcha18 »

Hello I have a 1992 Subaru Legacy L wagon. 2.2 5-speed N/A... I'm sad to say that it is going to be laid to rest in the scrapyard. But... before I scrap it out I would like to save all the parts I can for my 1996 Legacy outback wagon 2.2 5-Speed.. Is there anyone that can tell me what will and what parts won't fit? Like suspension parts.. Struts axles Springs if not the Struts... Also any other parts that anyone can think of that will interchange.. Please I only have a short time before I have to get it out of my parents barn... Step Dad is bitching cause it's taking his room for the tractor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rob

Pretty much everything ... there are some small differences. I have a steering rack and P/S lines out of a second gen Legacy 2.5. I had to seperate the main lines in the middle and use the 2.2 top lines just to give you an idea how not everything is 100% compatable. Most everything 99 and older is interchangeable.

Sweet that's what I was hoping to hear.. So maybe like with the struts I'll have to use the 96 tophats or perches with the 92 struts or possibly some combination of that? Thanks for the input. :) Probably got two weeks to get it completely torn down and parts off of it before I get told to get it out..
