WRX install complete

Post by SILINC3R »

will post pics tomorrow hopefully

installed early 03 front calipers with brakets= two pistons
front rotors might have been 03-04= much larger than old

rear calipers where 03 as well not sure if early model or not= piston is bigger than old
brand new rear rotors on= think it was the same diameter as old rotor. might have been a little bigger. both new and old rotor said max diamter was 170mm.

everything fitted up perfectly. 6 hours later and a nicely cooked back and it was finished, with only one :!: trip to autozone where i rented a piston compresser for a $58 deposit that i got back.
bought super blue racing fluid, drained and flushed the old crap. looks like the Koolaid Guy took a piss in my brake resovoir(?). brand new pads all around. should have bought the emergency pads as well but i didnt :? bought the pads from Subaru since dang Autozone couldnt find out which ones i needed in part to my not knowing what year i actually had. cost $154.68 for front and rear together.

part number# 26696AE020= $72.96 not sure which are which
part number# 26296FE060= $72.96

well get the part number for the rear rotors tomorrow. those where Subaru rotors as well.

front pads and rotor where replaced around 2.5 years
rear pads and rotors have been on there since i bought the car 3 years ago
have steel lines on 3 corners
so my experience with the new setup could be biased but it does fell a lot better. i did some trips on the highway from 70 to 60 and pushed the brake pretty good and it just stopped so nicely. no wobbly or not sure if it wanted to stop. very happy.

Doesn't the wrx brakes all around have quite a bit of front bias?
