I have my 93' turbo sw 4eat in a shop and they have solved my TPS issues and got my engine to idle properly and tranny to finally shift properly. I had a tranny rebuild in January and since then there has been a very loud "rattle" at idle and low rpms. It goes away at high rpms 3500-4000. I asked the shop to look into it and they believe the Trans oil pump or shaft or bearing may have been damaged during the rebuild or install. Its not a heat shield.
My question is where is the trans oil pump and is it possible to damage it when re-installing a 4eat?

The pump is inside the transmission. I don't know how you would damage it from the exterior.

I get a serious vibration thru out the car at 80mph then it goes away as speed increases and comes back even worse at 89-90mph and feels like the tranny or drive shaft is going tho shoot thru the floor.
Years ago I had torque bind and the mechanic didnt know it so he replaced the original 2 piece drive shaft with a custom one piece drive shaft. Do you think this one piece drive shaft is causing the vibrations?
I did just get new tires (balanced of course) which changed where the vibrations start. The steering wheel shakes noticeably at about 60mph but not while the other highspeed vibrations occur. Cant pin point this!

I would say something is definitely out of balance. If you had the problem before the tires, then I'd look at the drive shaft.
Try putting a fuse in the FWD fuse holder to see if that helps, as this will disable the AWD.

yes but the driveshaft still turns because the rear wheels are still moving? i think you need to remove it to see.

Yes, it will still turn, however it shouldn't be loaded, which should cause the vibration to change in intensity.
