Thanks for the comments. It was a rather bad looking stock grill that was closed off with fiberglass to replicate the grill on the world speed record cars, so it is a homemade aero grill. In the video you can see them working on the car with the grill popped out at the top. It appears to be a pretty flexible plastic.

No problem so far. We did have a mild summer though and I haven't driven it out in the desert. I made a cooling plate to seal off the top of the radiator and also used some stuff on the sides. Any air that goes in the front has to go through the radiator. That has to play into it also.

I have never had a single problem with my legacy getting too hot. Ever. That cooling system works awesome. I didn't block anything off but I did have only one fan working and didn't realize it until probably a year later. So only one fan working and it still never overheated even in 100 degree weather.
