2.2 build...I know :(

Post by massdrewski »

OK. After much thought on this I have decided to get rid of my Phase I and get a 2.2.

The Car.

1998 Legacy GT 5speed with that lovely 2.5 DOHC Phase I.

I am getting an engine (95, 2.2)via this site out of NJ to throw in.

I have thought about the different combos etc and I think that a simple 2.2 would be the best for reliability. Am I wrong in that?

My intent with this car is for Auto crossing and local Rally. The driver is well....really good and he suggested getting a 2.2 to keep it simple.

Of course I'm going to do some modding to let it breath a bit better and get ready for the beating of its life.

Wish list:
EBay Headers (cheap, and from what I hear offer decent Gains (for an NA)
Custom Exhaust.
I want to go with the new Rallisport V2 Intake (Gravel sport Part deux).
Drop as much weight as I can seats and extras etc. Heater? who needs that! wear a jacket. A/C? blah! keep the window rolled down.
Light weight pullys.
I want to keep the mods at a minimum as to not put too much on the engine. also, The driver is realllly good.
