Ken Block & Chris Atkinson having fun in a RWD Escort

Post by BoostAddict »

Hi All,

I just got a tip from one of our friends in the Rally-America series that Mr. Block paired up with Chris Atkinson at Tim O'Neil's Rally School for some RWD fun in one of the best rally-machines ever created - a Ford Escort MK2.

Take a look:

That looks like the most fun I've never had.

Where can I get one of these 1978 Ford Escort MKII's?

Why do they only release the good american cars in other countries? That's messed up.

european ford is a seperate entity and the models generally have nothing in common with american, with a few exceptions. we got xr4ti's in the 80's and capri's in the 70's. those are both really cool cars but rare. xr4ti's are a hell of a cool car if a bit ugly, look em up. those and another european ford called the scorpio were sold under the merkur brand here. there are probably still differences when compared to what was sold in europe but I'm not sure what they are.
i think you could build a pretty cool rally car out of a ford maverick or a mustang 2. definitely for group 5 with 302/T5.
