felting my dash
As some of you rally fans may know putting felt on the dash eliminates almost all the glare... no big deal on roads but in the woods it makes the world of a difference here are some pics of my leggy during the process.
Here is my sweet racing seats and harness'
Original dash..
Steering wheel out and trim brazel out
Out goes radio, cup holder, gages, and ashtray
Dash... GONE!
Laying out the felt
I even had time to make myself a custom pizza
Applying felt with spray adhesive
i filled the little dash pockets on the top with plexi glass.. I think the final product looks good.
Still need to cut out the vents and put them back in

When in doubt...Go flat out.

Damn! That never would've crossed my mind as a way to dress-up the interior! Looks great! Some guy on NASIOC flocked his dash, but that had to be WAY too much work haha.

3M (super M, I believe) makes a contact spray adhesive that I've used for carpeting speaker boxes. It works very well too.

3M makes a common temporary and permanent spray adhesive. The Super 77 is temporary. Can't remember what the other is called.

Looks way better than I expected? Any reason you didn't go with suede? Too expensive? Or just the look?
3M spray adhesive works awesome! I used to to wrap my STi steering wheel with suede, just gotta be a little careful with not laying it on too thick or it'll leak through, but you don't really need too much anyway.

Re: felting my dash

but i wont, bc im too cheap, ill probably do this in order to match all my door panels to the dash and to the trim, since it look like a blue/black/tan zoo in my car

Re: felting my dash
I'm wondering what level of maintenance is required to keep the felt looking good. I'm sure it catches dust like no other.
