4EAT vacuum nipple

Post by Redlined »

Doing my TD05/intercooler install when I spotted this

Image

appears to be a vacuum<sp?> nipple with no hose installed. and id guess from the muck on it, it hasnt had one in a long while.

What is it and where is it supposed to be plumbed to?

I noticed that hose on my dad's car. I'll try to figure it out/take a picture for you later tonight.

Breather pipe. It's meant to have a short bit of rubber hose that ends up aiming downwards so water and dirt doesn't go up into it.

There's normally two hoses, one for the diff and one for the trans. Might pay to look for the other one and make sure it's there too.
