Okay I fabbed up a homeade catch can from some damaged (scratched up but still fine) products from work. I was wondering what line and or lines would be wise to run into the catch can?
I had taken the lower hose off the block "T", and found actual oil dripping out of it. Taking the Intake tube off there is a visible trail of oil on the bottom that runs into the TB. I cleaned out the intake tube (very nasty), and am trying to decide how to route my catch can. Is there any reason off the back block vent, I can't just run both those lines to my catch can, then run the outlet line to my PCV valve?
All the air from any of those vents is technically alerady accounted for by the MAF, I just don't see why they all don't go to the PCV valve, as the intake tube is would essentially be under vacuum also.. N/A 2.2L as already mentioned. I can add multiple inlets and outlet barbs if needed.. Any comments appreciated..
well this N/A motor of mine does. Whether because of age (165K) and a lack of maintenance by the previous owner, or just because, Oil in intake is evident. Would like to keep it out of there.
Well, if you have ridiculous amounts of oil in your PCV system, then you have excessive blowby, which means you have far worse problems than an oil catch can will solve.
Have you done a compression test?

yeah I did one awhile ago need to re-check. 180 psi on all 3 cylinders save for driver's side rear which was 165psi. Coolant system was pressure checked, and no leaks, so it's probably rings. I wanted to see how much oil exactly was going thru the PCV system. I have it on the main PCV line right now.
Apparently not getting much oil thru the PCV system. I had it on the bottom of the "F" for a week and got nothing in the catch can. I have it on the main PCV line right now, and getting a considerable amount of nasty condensation (rust brown!). Going to maybe route it on the hoses for the heads and see if anything comes off those..
