Unlocking door without key or remote

Post by rosschch »

Hi, I'm in New Zealand with a 1990 Japanese Legacy VZ. When I use the driver's door handle, a beep sounds. I understand that this relates to a feature that allows you to unlock the door with a specific sequence of door handle activations. I do not know the current 'code', so how can I reset the code to my own? I'm aware that this isn't a feature on the US model, but if anyone can shed light I'd be most grateful - thanks!

Wow never heard of that! Interesting... I bet that is some long lost info in the back of some old Subaru guy's head somewhere.

Hi fellow N.Z.r have a look here... http://www.cars101.com/subaru/keyless.html

If it doesn't have your model get back to here and I'll find you some more.

If none of those keys looked like yours then the instructions in page-one and page-two here may be the ones.... http://cid-4ca3c3459aaa7f7f.skydrive.li ... ublic?uc=2

Thanks log1call, the scanned pages in your second link had the instructions, and the car is now opening itself! Would never had worked it out without them! Cheers, Rosco
