Sloppy shifter

Post by Spilner »

recently picked up a 91 Leg SS 5mt and the shifter is rather sloppy, lots of play from side to side even while in gear. I'm assuming it's a bushing of some sort anyone know specifically which one and a good place to pick it up?

Sounds like the shifter bushing is worn out. Its pretty easy to get to, just take the console around it off and you will see where its worn out. Im not sure of the fitments of the wrx ones, but i do know that i just bought a bronze bushing of the same size and put the bolt back in. Works fine!

This is just one of many threads on this subject.
