OK so I was crying in the ashtray about dropping one of my $200 dollar PIAA driving lights and braking it so I went out and bought some 20 dollar, yes folks, $20 dollar cheapo driving lights because I had drilled into the fog light covers already.
So here are the pics.
bonus video seeing the lights flash when I arm and disarm the car. Video
Enjoy!

I acually got some cheapies from autozone, they work great and really brighten up the road. but they do get kind of crappy looking after about a year or so. bad weather realy takes a toll on them
It looks like it's a sensor for the alarm. If that is what it is, it's there to tell the alarm to go off if the hood is popped open at all. Example: Thieves attempting to pop the hood so they can cut the battery wires to disable the alarm.

ding ding ding... although its not really a "sensor" its just a switch that is spring loaded goes to ground when its fully released i.e hood open.
In this case however it serves a dual purpose. Its also intended to cut the engine if the hood is popped and its under remote start .
