WRX Seat belts

Post by Grayguy »

Ok, my automatic seat belts on the 92' ss died long before I got it. My friend gave me a set of wrx front seat belts. I realize I'll have to drill/ cut some holes, that's fine. I'm just wondering if they are going to fit at all as far as where the mechanism gets mounted.

They will fit where the mechanism goes, however you're going to run into issues with the top mount point. I'm in the process of converting my car over to manual belts and plan to utilize all the USDM trim pieces except the bottom B pillar trim piece.

With how things are setup, the only issue I have now is finding a longer bolt and supporting collar. I'm going to start a thread and post what I found with pictures. I'll put the link in my post when I get the thread posted.

The buckles are different; you'll have to get the receiver part that attaches to the seat, or just get the whole WRX seat... big upgrade there, too.

i would honestly just get WRX seats to go with the belts. You can find a clean set for 200 and they are WAY more comfortable and hold you in alot better. Favorite mod on my car as of now(not that it's extremely modded or anything.... yet) :D

Wrong. The WRX buckles snap into my SS no problem. that's the first thing I did when my friend gave them to me.

Huh, that's cool. Doesn't work the other way... SS buckles were too big for the WRX recievers.
