Hi everyone, Has anyone fitted an ecu with an anti-lag option?
I have the chance to fit an Autronins SMC to my RS liberty
and was looking for any info on things I need to know.
The Autronics is switchable between anti-lag and road use,
where the link system you have to turn the key off first then back
on between modes.

it is an excellent ecu...best bang for the buck? Relative term depending how many bucks you have!

At the end of the day, all the ecu's are VERY close to one another, it all comes down to local support and how good your tuner/installer is

I have heard that they are the best (other than delco). It has everything and it is the most relyable. But it does need some expert turning that usually takes a couple of hours on the dino.

Thats just the thing...to wring teh most out of any of the aftermarket ecu's, expert tuning (not necessarily dyno time though) is needed.

Like I said, support is the most important thing. See what the shops you trust use and install most frequently. While you might not have as much car park cred. if you go with a "lesser" ecu, you will smiling ear to ear when you are driving your car and the others with the "superior" ecu's are waiting for a proprietary sensor arrive from voerseas :)

Autronic provides both of the proprietary sensors they need. All other sensors are AC Delco based.

Yup........if you don't have a tuner......and lots of time.....it's not worth it. The stock ECU learns and adapts to varying driving characteristics and weather and such......the aftermarket ones may not have this.......

Thanks Guys for replying, what about anti-lag?
Is this a wise thing just for a bit of noise or
do it and play with it. I was told that wear and tear on the
turbo is a concern. And that I had to have a s\steel exhaust and not
mild steel.

I suggest you strongly consider Motec, it a much faster processor and works better

you do not want to even think of using anti lag on the street

Why, I've seen others using it sparingly to get the desired effect.
I thought it might also be good to use in some car park motokhanas.
Sorry for the late reply, but it's hard when working away in short
bursts.
