does this sound like a recipe for disaster?

That spinning thing that makes all of the cool noises. OE and Aftermarket.

Haha let me help you out. Do you have the picture on your computer? If so, upload it to tinypic.com real quick (or photobucket.com if you have it) and then post the link on this site.

good point that the 4eat slushbox doesn't put out the same power and has lower shift points, but i would think that both aren't enough to explain the difference in output given the efficiency range of the turbo. more so, the chip is pushing 17psi v. 11psi.

i'm all for reliability and revtronix rocks for that and consistency, but this hobgobblin of an engine convinces me that subaru engines deserve respect. seeing that 2.2 N/A engines are a dime a dozen, in a pinch i'd go this route in a second because i just don't believe this is a fluke. a fluke doesn't go to 200K miles... plus, it sounds like a freakin' jet!!! how, cool is that next to a ricer civic? that's something v-8 guys could appreciate.

my apologies if that wasn't a real dyno plot. i thought it was from a customer car. now, someone's going to say, "well, it was this dyno so the real number is (pi x r^2) x (blah, blah, blah)..." which i was trying to avoid.

cheers

Right, but he's also running a T04E, the Revtronix chip is designed for a TD04-13G. A T04E is about the size of a TD05-16G, so he's probably flowing about the same amount of air at 11PSI that a TD04 does at 17PSI, but the air that he's flowing is cooler, so it's going to be more efficient.

I think thats where the MAF maxes out, Or thats where it saw some knock and started to retard timing.

Ah gotcha. I'm just so f-ing impressed that you're running that much boost out of that turbo on a STOCK N/A ECU. Haha amazing!
