I like a painting. But I will not buy one, no matter how deft the brushwork, or how well the artist captures the natural light, if the subject matter is James May's scrotum.

So, when exactly has the Impreza been a looker? The GC years had an aggressive front with a funny looking econo car rear. The GD had an aggressive rear and Subaru couldn't find a winning combo for the front.

Now everyone chastises the current Impreza. I don't think anyone will ever be happy with the Impreza with all the whiners these days.

"that won't do"

I prefer any previous Impreza to the current one. I complained about the horse collar/hawkeye, but I'd rather buy one of those than the current design. It's turned into a cross between a Mazda3 and a Kia. Except that the 1st generation Mazda3 looks good.
