Happy First Snow-day!

Post by Dynamic Entry »

Yup, October 13th.

I had a gut feeling last night and changed over from RE 070s to the studded winters.

Nice sight to wake up to

It snowed here in Colorado last Saturday. The number of accidents was mind boggling.

Nope, I hate snow too. I like it on the mountain and that's all. Other than that I'd rather it be 80 degrees and blue sky every single day.

The snow looks nice but after last winter....jesus no thanks. I lost track of how many times I had to dig my metro out of the snow and it had studded snow tires on all four wheels with great tread! Not to mention all the other people I dug out. I was in my step dads diesel 2500 dodge in 4 wheel low and was going down a narrow road and someone was coming the other direction so I pulled litterally like 1.5 feet off the side of the packed snow and was HIGH CENTERED! I couldn't believe it. I rolled my window down and looked out at the driver side wheels and they were both spinning in the air. Had to get out, grab my collapsable and spent 10 mins of vigorous digging under the truck to get the snow out from under the axles.

Really made me miss my 1st legacy wagon with AWD and studded snow tires. I couldn't get that car stuck in the snow. It just plowed right through anything, I was amazed.

I dont hate snow... I dont hate driving on snow. I hate driving on snow around other drivers.

back in... '95 I think we had a big ass Ice storm. Sky opened up and dumped rain and then the temperature plumated freezing everything solid. At the time I was driving a lowered Nissan King cab Pickup with 10" low profile tires all around. absolute worst thing you can think of to drive on ice. I was putting down one of the main drags and the car in front of me stopped and signaled for a left hand turn. I started to slow down and had the presence of mind to check my rear view mirror. Sure enough, some goob behind me going full speed ahead. I pulled over and stopped. the goob slid passed me and into the rear of the stopped car.

Now if I lived in Arizona or some place where fowl weather was a practical unknown I could understand this kind of thing. But I dont. I like in the pacific NW. Home of fowl weather. and yet. every time it rains people loose they minds. "ZOMG! ZOMG! Whats happening? Ive never seen this before! I dont know how to drive in it!*slams on the breaks and swerves sharply*"

Amen to that Redlined!!! People in the PNW somehow forget that rainy weather is the norm, and freakout at the first drop after our brief summer.

I love having snow in the city. It kills me to hear of everywhere getting snow, while I still have nasty wet rain.

i love the snow. i will probly not drive my 3rd gen legacy if it snows. i got the 91 wagon for that. 3 diff color, 400,000+ miles, so i dont care if she get hurt.

i want it to snow like there is other. the reason ppl in the pnw freak out when it rains or snows, are because most of them are from california. that being said they forgot were the switch to turn on in wipers is, or there wipers are so old they dont do shit.

Mount Baker

Post by mike-tracy »

I went up Mount Baker with a cool bunch of guys and gals right before it opened:

The guy in the top pic kept skiing down the mountain and catching rides on the way up. At first we thought he was admiring our Subies. ;)

Once again, my 2nd gen wasn't ready - I had fluid leaking problems ever since I swapped the motor. Got it licked now I think after pulling the engine twice more to seal the back side (rear main, the oil separator plate & that o-ring) and the "front main seal" on the tranny.
