Random Happenstance photoshoot

Post by Redlined »

So... my computer crashes. I go to my buddies in Beaverton. I get some parts drop my buddy off and head home. Bombing down 26 i hit the exchange to the 405 and a white turbo-leg pulls up on me from behind. we play tag for a few miles and I give him the "lets stop for a drink" gesture. Pull off and start gabbing. He already knew me... or rather Angel, from the websight here. Turns out it was SMH101. we talked and did hood rat stuff. Our cars are set up so similar its scary. same springs rims and even tires. After a bit we found a decent parking lot and did an impromtue photoshoot with our Phone-cameras. here are the results and I promise Ill bring my normal camera with me next time.

this is almost like one of those "find 10 differances between these two pictures" puzzles.

Haha that's awesome! I love the randomness.

I don't think I've ever seen a modded turbo Leggy just driving around; only times are at meets. I think everyone just lives a little too far north or south of me :(

thats pretty cool! for such a rare car and even rarer to see a modded one much less that similar must have been quite a shock to both of you.

Nice one.

I have only seen one other SS in the last year.... it was not the same color, but she gave me the nod.

And then I had a crisis in my trousers.

Actually shit, I guess I was right up by you last week. Wednesday I met another member up at exit 165. Get off and go over the freeway I believe and right down the street there's a shell station where we met. Bought my sunroof from him.

no... I WIN!!! I don't know why though. That looks sweet though, I see an SS around Spokane every once in awhile, but its always either Jordan(Subieprice88), my brother, or some old lady/dude thats probably had it since new and has no idea that half the dudes on here would kill for it haha. Nice find though, I never see modded ones though unless they are at Auto-x/Meets etc

Wow! Good eyes Shtbxr22!

I think the best part about the whole event was the double-takes we kept getting from passer-bye.

And to be fair SMH101 has a good deal more happening under the hood than I. what with DOHC heads and manifold. Forged 9-1 pistons and the like.

But from a pedestrian point of view the cars are practically twins!

One of the I/C's looks like from 06 USDM wrx/fozzy, the other looks JDM slanty, no?

They're both 06-07 WRX ICs... One is just a little slanted.... They can be a bitch to get perfect... I lucked out on a V4 STi TMIC Y-Pipe Setup that I slightly modded to make it work.

And Dave... It sure is funny how that worked out... I'm sure our power bands are VERY different though...

and mine now sits squarer. I took it apart and did some clearancing and refitting trying to work out a weird high pitched "radio frequency" type noise my turbo has started emitting.

also yeah.... SMH0101s more engine centric build will simply build more power from idle to.... 4000 RPMs or so when my larger turbo starts building real power... amd evem after that it will be kinda a toss up.

But... apples and oranges. both are still awesome examples of the breed :)
