Anyone running a high CR?

Post by stef1825 »

Ok so here it goes; I have a spare ej22t wich I plan on rebuilding for autocross events and daily driving, I was thinking a slight higher compression ratio... Does anyone here run a higher compression ratio on their car?

I'm running 9.1:1... Stock is 8.1

ej253 block
STi Rods
CP Drop In STi Pistons
thin metal headgasket
ej25d heads

I love it... Makes more power on less boost, great off boost response... well... there really isnt any off boost ever... td04 spins hella quick

I'm figuring at about 8 lbs I'm at about 200 atw...

Reason I say this... Because at 8 lbs I was wasting 06-07 WRX fairly easy... And those are about 180-190 atw

I've upped the boost to 13lbs and jesus... Pulls like a raped ape. Cant wait to get a slightly bigger turbo on it to take the power up to 250-280 atw. Although tuning will definitely be critical.

smh - that sounds like a great setup. You are running that with a PP6, correct?

Any higher CR's with the stock 22T block?

I have a PP6 to put in... But for now I'm still running stock.

AFRs were fine and I'm not knockin so I'm not gonna worry about it until I get a bigger turbo. Then I think I'll just go standalone.

And I'm on 440cc injectors.

i just got some pistions from wiseco. 97.5mm(20 over). and when you order the pistions from them, unless they are custom pistions, you get 8.5. stock is 8.

and i think on average .007 is equal to 1cc. so when you deck the block or heads you might think about that.
