Actually I traded him some Cutco that I got for free.

Im an Assistant Manager for our local cutco office and I ended up with a bunch of extra brand new cutco (cutco is hella expensive btw) and was just like, hey, what are you doing for your wife for x-mas? I'll trade you a BUNCH of Cutco for one of those turbos.

And he was like... DONE!

So since the cutco didnt cost me anything... I pretty much just got it for free. :)

And 18g is the size of the compressor wheel... Its basically a td05-16g modified with a substantially higher flowing compressor wheel and a slightly different compressor housing.

td05 is the size of the turbine wheel and houseing.

From what I understand this is basically similar to the Forced Performance 18g... which flows 605cfm and is good (on a wrx/sti) for about 275-390 whp.

I think on my motor that should be well withing reason.

I'm gonna need bigger injectors, i may be able to get buy with my 480s for a little bit on not much boost, bu idk... I'll also need a bigger tmic or fmic and I'm defintely going to need something to tune with... meaning either put in my PP6 or save to buy a link.

Soo stock ecu?! Why not just get the revtronix fully tuneable chip when it comes out? I am definitely going with it so I can run a TD05 and turn up the boost.

Yep yep. Stock ECU

Thats actually what I'll most likely do. I may throw on a PP6 and have someone help me do a little tuning so that I can run the turbo and get a little more Ooomph. Then get the revtronix chip.

How big is the cold side of that turbo?


16/18/20/25G all represent how big the exhaust wheel is on the turbo. A smaller wheel equals quicker spool, but a larger wheel equals more top-end.

From what I understand the 18g represents the compressor wheel (cold side) just like 13t, 16g, etc.

The hot side is a td05h

I'm thinkin with a FMIC and 565s and a tune, revtronixs or otherwise I could hit 300atw

Very possible. My friend is on an FP Green (modded TD06-20G) at 21 PSI and a VERY safe tune and making ~320 AWHP. So, with a bit more aggressive tune and about the same boost, you should be able to hit about that.

That's in an STi. I figure that you have the same displacement, a higher CR and less aggressive cams. If you have a more aggressive tune and and a little more boost, you should be able to hit at least 280ish.

Sweet. I'm shootin for 300...

I was talking to Jarrad from PDX Tuning, who I got the turbo from and they were hittin almost mid 300s with this thing.

Your compression ratio could be a stumbling block...


You are probably going to have to pull timing on the top end with that much compression...which might hurt your numbers a bit...

But at the same time it should pick up quicker off the line.

I'll take that trade off... Less lag for less top end... Okay!

I was thinking the same thing. "WTF is cutco, why is it so expensive and what would his wife want with it?"

Then I remembered my friend started working for them in high school going door to door selling their kitchen knives. He referred me to them and they called me up and set an appointment up to interview me and they wanted me to go door to door selling product for them. But I said,"Hell no I'm not going door to door for a living!"
