just making sure this will work...

Post by speedmaxx »

before everyone goes off about searching, I have been searching for the past few days and I have not come up with the ancwers I need.

so Im looking to add a rear sway bar to my 93 legacy l, from what I have found basically any rear sway bar from a 95-99 legacy will fit, correct?

now I found ralitek makes a nice rear sway bar for the 96-99 legacy's, why would they exclude the 95 legacy?

http://www.rallitek.com/lereswbarkit.html

so will this fit with no issues? I also plan on installing the 04-07 impreza mounting brackets. so what else will I need? the sway bar comes with endlinks and pollyurthan bushings. so is this everything I will need.

I also began reading about having to change my rear lateral links. is this true? I would perfer not pulling my stockers apart. is there a way to just add a mounting bracket to my stockers? aftermarket lateral links all seem to come with a braket you mount onto the link.

sorry for all the question, Im just trying to get this right before I go spending all this money just figure out it wont fit.

That bar from rallitek should work fine. As for the year discrepency...don't know.

You will need to swap out the rear lateral link to one that has the bracket to bolt on the end links.

I know you can use 02-05 WRX ones, probably 96-99 Legacy ones, and most likely RS ones as well.

I know some 1.8L imprezas didn't have a sway bar on the rear at all, but not sure which years.

That should give you enough options to source some.

Im in the same boat. I have a 94 L

i tried the junkyard and even the dealerships aswell. They wanna charge me an arm and a leg for them. Best i could i have got was $100 a piece, minus the bushings. I plan on getting the STi Pink ones for the GC Impreza. Same rough price and a little stronger.

Any of the mid 90's legacy or Impreza's with a rear sway bar will have the lateral links you need. You really only need to replace the rear most lateral link.

So is the there like a list of the lateral links that will work for a fact?

All the junk yards I've been callin don't have much, a few of them have wrx's and some rusted out legacys and impreza's

so the wrx lateral links will work? How about the newer legacys and impreza's?

Also, does anone know how much new links are going for from the factory?

In 2000 the rear suspension changed on the Legacy. 2000 and newer will not work. Impreza stuff should work for 2007 and older. 2008 I believe is when they went to the new body style, and whole new rear suspension setup.

You can buy these from WL.

When I bought them, they were $250. I'm sure they're a little more now. Not sure what stock stuff is going for.
