Stock rim max width

Hi there. I was wondering how wide of a tire can i stick on the stock rims of my 1993 legacy turbo. Stock is 195/60/15. Can i run a 215 or maybe a 225??

Im asking such a dumb sounding question because i want my car to look as stock as humanly possiable. Plus its going to be running some good power soon so im going to try to surprise some WRX's in my area.

I think others have run 215's. From my experience you will probably experience some form of rubbing at that level though.

I'd suggest searching or hopefully someone else will chime in as well.

Hmmm 215's are not bad at all. The answer that i dont know tho is how wide is the stock rim??? They got 195's on them. So Legacy777 your sayin that i can run maybe a 215 on the stock 15's.

Anyone else to give an input???

Umm...no. I misunderstood your question. I thought you were asking what was the max width that would fit on these cars.

The stock 15's are only 6" wide. 205 is probably the widest thing you can get on there.

That should be enough sticking power to hold my mods.

There is only one way i would upgrade my rims. If i can find some 05-09 legacy GT 5 spokes..... And they are NOT cheap to buy new!
