I was going to use lead—old school—but had a hell of a time getting it. An auto body supplier told me to use Everglass, which says "now with Kavlar for superior strength in thinner applications". It's a 2-part catalyst like body filler. We'll see how it goes. I'm definitely looking more forward to it than the lead! Kind of glad I couldn't get it, as cool as it would be to have used '50's techniques on a Subaru wagon. I'm losing all the Subaru badges (though going with the Liberty or new Legacy badge) as they're dead to me now. I'm custom making whole new manufacturer badges of my own design as a test for when I actually build my own car. I'm also replacing the rear tail light garnish with an aluminum strip since I broke the plastic one and always thought the aluminum would look cool and take 10 years off the car visually.

Lead FTW! At the shop I used to work at, race drivers would come in and snag all the lead wheel weights that we'd taken off of rims before we re-balanced 'em and they'd melt 'em down and use 'em to weight their cars. Old school=Cool. Nerve/Brain damage=Not so much.

Lead weights probably wouldn't work as body filler as the body filler stuff is a tin-lead alloy (but not the same as solder, which I scored some of when they were phasing it out at an old job I had and kept because it kicks lead-free's ass for electrical work and I don't care to live forever as long as I get stuff done. Besides, that's what surplus Israeli gas masks are for).

Thanks for postin' that side shot. The spoiler looks killer and I like the missing factory antenna too. I would love to duplicate your rear antenna but I carry too many toys on the roof rack and I think that it would be in the way.

FYI: Lead and tools.

If you guys are serious about the lead you can find all that you need at eastwood.com . They sell tools and such for hotrod building.

Careful not to melt the spoiler :)

I was at walmart and saw another 95-99 wagon with a oem spoiler on it, it didn't have the two cutouts over the rear glass like mine did, so there's another option for "style" i suppose.... kinda want that one now

you also need to use a shorter rear wiper blade or it will hit the center post of the spoiler.

Just got mine from the bone yard for $30. I notched the ends of the spoiler and trimmed the moldings on the car and was able to install. After my $10 paint job of course.

That should work, with some minor modifications as mentioned earlier in the post. Thats a 2nd gen spoiler and it almost fits perfectly but the window moldings on the 1st gen wagons interfere a little.

Two jdm spoilers I've seen in photos have the third brake light in it. I've seen two designs, one that is close to the pics posted and the other one is bigger and rises above the roof line.
