mt swap confusion

will someone just tell me what i need to look for.

I have a 94 tleg with a 4eat

I want
mt
hydro clutch
ability to buy a short shift kit
dont care if i need to swap the rear diff
push or pull type?

what car do i need to be looking for?
Ive been researching for a week now and all i've come up with is possibly 02-05 wrx?! I'm lost in the in fo and just need a good starting point to look for parts/

Mainly what years are best for the options above.
Also can I just go with a na tranny and to cable till I can come up with the funds for the wrx and hydro set up

I know the info is out there. But my brain is fuzzy from the 60 plus hours I've been working this last couple weeks
94 tleggy wagon, 22t with 2.5 dohc heads, pp6, tdo4, fmic, 3inch catless bpm turbo back, wrx brakes, MANY interior mods to list

You can get n/a trannies that are hydro. However cable n/a trannies can be swapped to hydro if you desire. I think it'd be easier to just get one that is already hydro.

Short shifter, you can do that with whatever trans you get. Just need to replace the connector joint and shifter linkage with a stock WRX setup.

Pull would be desirable since their design allows for more clamping pressure, but it's not a must.
