The EJ22t should be 8.7PSI. I'm sure the EJ20 depends on the
application and turbo size, e.g. BF Legacy or STi RA.

I was told that it was 15PSI on the stock Legacy EJ20t. This sound
about right to me as it has the intercooler.

Stock UK Legacy EJ20T only runs about 9psi and we have the intercoolers. Fuel cut is around 15psi though.

I seem to be having a problem with my EJ22T and boost. When I have
the hoses connected to the stock boost controller I get a quick
hesitation at just over 4000rpm. Boost maxes out at around 4psi?

If i disconnect the hoses to the controller and route them to each
other (bypass the stock controller), It eliminates the hesitation
(jolt) problem and my boost maxes out around 5psi. But then when I let
off the gas or shift gears my boost gauge jumps from like 5-8psi and
goes back to around 5 steadly.

Should I install a manual boost control to fix my problem? cause I
tried hooking up another crappy stock boost controller and had the
same problem. I actually find my car runs better by bypassing the it.
but i am only getting 5psi rather than the stock 8.7

Could I pick up a one-way bleed valve at the hardware store (for
manual boost control)

thanks in advance,
ryan

Sounds like it could be a faulty actuator, either that or your boost gauge is not reading accurately and you're hitting boost cut? Just a guess.
