I decided to come here. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ken & my wife & I own a 1997 Subaru Legacy L (195k+ miles)
Mods? Yeah, right.
Good:
Outback front fascia
Fog light setup
Brembo drilled brake discs
Legacy GT (KYB) shocks/struts
Outback interior
FWD custom switch w/fuse (only for an emergency)
Outback sound system
New equal-length exhaust manifold (wider ID than original y-pipe)
Outback rims
Bad:
Rust in rear above wheels
Automatic
Small dents around car
Mismatched front fenders
Single port EJ22E (SOHC)
Small hole in pipe just after catalytic converter
Mismatched front tires (same size, different tread)
All & all, this is a good car & can take many more years of driving. I'm on here to learn from all of you & to hopefully gain more insight as to what direction I should take this car.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SadzozcGCjE - What it looks like now. I've spoken about a DOHC EJ22E elsewhere but I think it's a good idea. I do plan to turbo this car at some point. Most have told me to stick with the EJ22T's heads but I like the DOHC idea. Feel free to tell me what you think.
Hi there everyone! Couldn't find a welcome forum so...

I also tried getting a UEL but that didn't work out too well. I'm saving up to try again & then when I get the EJ25D heads, I'll probably sell them to another person with the same motor (single port) as me.
i like! not diggin the cannon tho, how does it sound with equal length plus that cannon?
Well, to be honest, it sounded 'unbalanced' & a bit too loud, even with the silencer on. it was stolen when I was on vacation in Vermont w/my wife. The catalytic converter back was stolen so I ended up buying a new system & cannon (which is much quieter & sounds meaner than the last one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SadzozcGCjE )
It sounds awesome with the equal length. Also, this site has some awesome info about DOHC EJ22s, something I was practically hunting down. Thanks for the welcome!
