I like the smaller companies that are more down to earth.
That's cool, I respect that. I do understand what you mean. I love their shoes and clothes honestly. I think they make a good product and I like how they are starting to sponsor non-mainstream sports and kind of coin dirtbike riders, car drivers, snowboarders, etc as "athletes" as well just like Underarmour does for the NFL or something.

Yeah that's cool. It's just their prices are outrageous and they charge that much just because they can and they know every one will drop that dough to rock their brand. I kind of prefer to not wear brands anymore unless they're small brands. I like shirts that don't show the brand if possible. So people will appreciate the shirt for how it looks on me rather than what brand I'm wearing.

The wagon's looking good! I'm from Richmond, so I can DEFINITELY appreciate the sno-drift pic's from last month. it looks like everything is coming along nicely on the car so far and I'll definitely keep up with your build journal for inspiration for my '91 wagon! Keep up the good work!

Today....
Installed a new fuel filter, changed the engine oil and filter, a pair of new Sylvania Ultra headlight bulbs(which I highly recommend), and my brother buffed my headlights for me today.

IDK with my car, I used a rachet style wrench and basically tightened it till it was snug. Year later no leaks! Yet I didn't use oem.

i've had her for about a year now. Unfortunately her auto-tragic transmission still runs well enough to keep me from doing the swap, so I'm still stalled on mods...

i wish that I had the money to make starting a build journal worth it! I got the car for free when a customer at the shop I used to work at brought it in complaining of a "ticking noise". as soon as I heard the "ticking"(Oil? What's oil? You mean that something is supposed to come out of that hole when you take that bolt out?), I knew that the engine was shot. when he heard the cost on parts and labor to bring her back to life' the first thing he asked my service manager was if he left it with us, could we get rid of it? I ended up with the wagon and pretty much ignored her for about a year, met my now wife and our daughter and soon had a reason to get the old girl rolling again. She's been on the road for a year now and is rolling bone-stock while carrying my now 7 month- old son all over town. So, unfortunately, baby=no $. I do have a set of SVX seats kicking around that I'm going to attempt to transfer into the old girl to update these worn-out velours, but that certainly doesn't strike me as journal-worthy. The progress on your wagon keeps me positive though. Looking forward to your updates, she's looking good!

I thought only the 04 sti struts fit properly? Are you still going to try the 05s and slot the holes out wider for more camber?

These 05 WRX struts will work because they have the 5x100 bolt pattern just like an 04 STi does....or so that is what I have come to understand. I measured the distance between the camber bolt holes and they are 2.5" just like my OEM wagon struts.

I will still probably need camber bolts though to make everything line up correctly.

Couldn't install the struts and springs today...my local auto parts store didn't have any spring compressors to fit my springs. I will have to look at Harbor Freight or something I guess.

So, I took the time and lubed up my speedo cable since it was giving me trouble, adjusted my clutch cable, installed a new air filter, and....

Looks real sharp. Personally I like the gold wheels on blue Subarus, but it's not a bad look on yours.

It rides AMAZINGLY better! A very nice stiff and secure feeling ride now. The suspension that was on it was wore out!

What does everyone think?

Looks good! How much did it drop the car and does it sit level all the way around? I had heard that our wagon's were PITA's to drop.

It actually dropped it a little over an inch...I think around 1 1/8". Thank you for the kind compliments. It looks to be level...haven't really measured out with all of the bad weather we are having. I am working on it again Sunday so I will look at that then.

It wasn't too hard at all...I just took my time with it.

I decided that I am going to install the STi springs instead and see how that goes. I am not quite sure if I like the car this low.

Replaced a cv axle boot today and started on the STi spring installation. I think i will like the ride height a lot more.

I also got some MB Quart speakers for the car...along with the additional Hella's going on the car. It won't be long.

put everything back together....went for a ride....now i am feeling vibration in the front passenger side.

I think the entire axle needs replacing now since I didn't catch the torn boot in time. I have made sure everything is tight around the hub, caliper, etc. When I turn the axle shaft slowly back and forth, I can hear a clamour inside the outer part of it....like it is loose or something. It clanks again and again as I move the axle shaft. The other side doesn't make a noise.

Am I right that I need a new axle shaft? Advice on where to get one quick?

Thanks guys!

I did install the STi springs...at least they feel great!!! Now I need to fix this axle!
