Rebuilding EJ22E-Couple questions

Post by Perkul8r »

So i picked up an EJ22E motor complete today. Its out of a 92 legacy L auto with only 92,000 miles. I am putting the motor in my 98 legacy with the 22e also. My question is, I plan on switching over to the 22t heads, the heads on the motor dont look so good. And i want to run the 22t intake mani and injectors. How is the car going to run with an NA ecu and the turbo injectors? I do plan on turboing the motor as soon as money allows, but that could be a while. And my car is a 98 legacy, so its obd2. Could i still use the engine harness and sensors on the 92 motor?

Thanks

Your exhaust won't fit. The 98 has single port heads.

I dont plan on reusing my factory exhaust, i already knew that the factory pipes were different. I was planning in using a borla style header with the 22t heads.

So i started tearing down the motor i got. I am going to replace any and all gaskets in besides splitting the case halves, that i can. I pulled the heads today and the crosshatch is still very visible in the cylinders. The motor was said to have right around 92,000 miles on it. Should i take it down any further and possibly replace the rings or should i just leave it? I am turboing this motor so i want to do it right and not have to redo it months down the road.

No point in reringing at all.Dont go any deeper unless to change the pistons, which i would if converting to turbo.
94SS.Wiseco forged pistons,TD04,TMIC,WALBRO 225,440's,3" all the way, revtronix stage 2,enough other crap to fill the internet.
