injector question

Post by chochocho »

i have a stage 2 revtronix chipped with the following mods:

06 intercooler, jecs maf, 800cc injectors, walbro, high flow dp, exhaust.

the injectors are modified 04 sti injectors that flows 800cc but in running it with the revtronix chip, the fuel trim was maxed out and we were still running lumpy and lean at 15.7

is there a way to check either fuel pressure or whether the injectors are indeed the issue.

the chip was double checked and was programmed for 800cc injectors. mechanic thinks its the injectors not flowing to its maximum capability and possibly, it's running at 550cc.

what else could be the problem?

thanks in advance.

That is the problem with "reworked" injectors, you hardly ever get the flow they advertise.
Who modified the injectors?
Regardless of that, I'd send them to RC and have them cleaned and flow tested, then you know exactly what you're looking at.

From there, you can make your decision on what to do.

the injectors were modified by witchhunter.com

i have the flow test right before they were sent, etc. and they were matched to between 800 to 804cc.

i think i will either wait for the revtronix programmable chip or get some other ecu to run the car.......

The spray pattern can get's messed up due the modifications that are being made to the nozzle tip. This can affect the injector's ability to properly atomize the fuel when its injected.

Do modded injectors still work, sure. But it's just one of the risks/things you need to make sure you're aware of.
