All the info you seek is contained in this forum, somewhere and everywhere . Pretty much any side feed injectors for subaru will work, just a matter of fuel rails. The new style side feeds like the 550cc yellow tops will definately fit 92-24 N/A, any aftermarket side feeds designed for the STI (new style)will also work in these rails. I've heard of people using some nissan side feeds in these rails as well, not real sure about this though. Some look like they will work some don't.
No top feed injectors will work unless you get custom fuel rails, I believe there are some people doing this. I'm pretty sure you also have to modify the intake or make an adapter to accept these.
The old stlye side feeds like the 440cc grey tops and the 480cc yellow tops will definately fit 91 N/A Auto fuel rails, I have 480cc sitting in these rails right now from my previous setup.
I've heard conflicting stories about using the new and old style sidefeeds in the ej22t rails, some say they work and some say they don't. I have never tried this but I can definately tell you the injectors look completely different, but that doesn't mean the O-rings don't fit in the same places on the injectors.
My best suggestion is to buy some 92-94 N/A fuel rails. Look very closely at the sti 550cc and the 440cc and see the difference. I looked on EBAY for a long time browsing various injector pictures. If the injectors look the same they will probably fit, some of the 95 and up legacy N/A red top side feeds look exactly the same as the 550's and should fit but they probably flow alot less than the stock pink injectors. I even saw some Saturn injectors that would probably work but they too probably don't flow much.
As far as 95 and up fuel rails, I don't believe they will work. I remember reading the intake is different. I think it's wider than ours, or the injector spacing is different therefore the rails would be spaced differently. Not 100% sure about this, it may be the 2.5 I'm thinking of.
I think somebody once wrote "Get 92-94 N/A fuel rails and the world is your oyster as far as injectors go", I don't remember who wrote it but this is true when it comes to the new style side feeds like the STI 550cc yellowtops.
One more thing, as tempting as the Venom injectors are don't buy these. I've read on this forum and some nissan forums they suck and can sometimes vary by as much as 100cc from injector to injector
Oh, and also make sure you reuse your fuel pressure regulator as Mike from Revtronix told me the ej22t uses a 43.5 psi regulator vs the N/A 36.3psi or something like that. This was a big concern of mine because I thought all older Subarus were 36 psi and therefore the newer style injectors would flow less than 550cc at the lower pressure. This was not the case, everything works great so reuse the ej22t FPR.

Before this thread gets too old I just came across this info, provided by vrg3/Vikash, in this POST:

The yellow top injectors you're thinking of are the new-age STi ones? From what I hear, they flow about 550 cc/min. That's at the STi's stock fuel pressure, though, which is higher than ours. At our fuel pressure they'd flow about 500 cc/min. They fit right into 92-94 NA fuel rails, which bolt right up to an EJ22T.
This leads me to wonder that when/if Revtronix gets back online, I should have him program my chip for my STi yellows @ 550 or 500??

I wondered this same thing for a awhile. Mike at Revtronix told me that all Turbos have a 43.5 psi regulator so it should be tuned for the injectors flow rate at this pressure. I have my chip tuned for 530cc injectors at 43.5 psi, which is what they flow at after going to witchhunter.com for service(yes these are the new style STI yellowtops). Your best bet is to get them cleaned/flow tested so you know exactly what they flow before getting your chip. Just make sure your fuel pressure regulator is for a Turbo car, I believe the earlier NA FPR is set at 36.3psi or something similar. The Turbo FPR is definately 43.5psi or else my car would not run as well as it does. I will admit I've never checked my fuel pressure with or without vacuum, but for as many chips as Revtronix has sold and as many people are using the "550cc" injectors, Mike has to know what he is talking about. Maybe when I get some time I'll check my FPR, I also have a NA FPR I could bolt on just to see the difference. The 43.5psi I believe is called the static pressure and is with the vacuum hose removed.

So do you think all the early Turbo Legacy/Liberty's fuel pressure is 43.5? Or maybe the 20G/H had more for the higher cc injectors? What's everyone's thoughts on that?

Something that's unclear but related is that some sites list the old JDM 480cc (yellow) as 440cc (gray) and the 440cc as 370cc (but not the same as our EJ22T)...I ran into this when I originally had 480s (which I had Revtronix program for 440 as the Seller I bought 'em from wasn't aware either).

I'd have to search for a thread I posted in the misc forum once the search index gets fixed. I did some tests and fuel pressur was one of them.

I Payed $200 for mine. allegedly new per a rebuild and then decided to switch to bigger injectors.
Anyone have a parts number for the O-rings?

'92 FSM states fuel pressure is to be 26-30 psi idling. after 'racing' the engine, turning it off, connecting D-check and back to ignition on, pressure should be 34-38 psi.cj91legss wrote:So do you think all the early Turbo Legacy/Liberty's fuel pressure is 43.5?
When I measured my car (walbro 255 installed) it read around 33 psi idling.

Concerning fuel inj. and rails: will the 550 (530?) side-feeds fit 92-94 turbo rails? Will you need any special o-rings, etc.? I have 2 left-side turbo rails `cause I have a parallel fuel feed set-up. Also, will the stock WRX/STI fuel pressure regulator work with the stock set-up? I`m trying to avoid using a RRFPR if I can. Any input would be great. P.S. I now have the pink injectors; are they rated at 380cc and have been blueprinted by RCeng. Thanks again--Rod G. (Subiedo)

Ran in my car just fine with STI yellowtops. Didn't notice any problems. Idle and cruise was 14.7 AFR and full throttle was around 10-12 AFR. That's with an EJ20G motor, EJ22T ECU and MAF, EJ22T BCS, TD05-16g, 3" TBE. But never had a problem with them.asc_up wrote:The car wouldn't run with 550's. As we discussed on Saturday, you need the 92-94 non-turbo fuel rails to use the 550's. I'd use either the stock legacy fuel pressure regulator or the STi one if that fits better.

is anyone running stock ECU using the USDM STI injector setup? I saw a couple people say they did without any problems. Wouldn't you either need the revtronix or a SAFC to tune the mixture at least for idle and what not?
