NEW LEGACY TURBO

FYI
Have you guys heard about this?

The plot thickens....... Legacy turbo part 3.0

Not only does this picture give a first glimpse of the redesigned Subaru
Legacy, they also confirm rumors that Subaru will offer their all-new Legacy
in a hot 350-HP STi (Subaru Technica International) version to compete
against cars like the Audi S4. The STi, shown in these pictures has twin
tailpipes and a low stance, and is equipped with a 350-horsepower,
twin-turbo version of the company's flat-six engine, driving all four wheels
in typical Subaru fashion

So far, Subaru's hottest model is to be found one size below the Legacy ?
the Impreza WRX STi with just 207 hp (though a faster Legacy does exist, but
is sold only in Japan and New Zealand).

The whole Legacy range will get a fresh and sleeker look, but will easily be
recognizable as a new-generation Legacy. The base models will get their
power from carryover 2.0- and 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines and the
3.0-liter six. Soon after the introduction of the new Legacy, Subaru will
launch the firm's first four-cylinder diesel engine, penned in-house and
featuring latest common-rail technology developed in cooperation with GM
partner Isuzu. Price for entry-level models is expected to start around
$24,500, with the STi version (pictured here) topping off at possibly as
much as $45,000.

I've read that they've given up the idea of a
twin-turbo and will go with a single turbo Legacy for
the 2005 model year, to be available in fall of 2004.
I had read the turbo Legacy would probably sell for
$30,000 U.S. I've also read that the Blitzen will
remain limited to Japan and a few in New Zealand.
Pretty interesting, where did you find this source?

A friend of mine sent it to me so I don't know where he got it from!
But the prices listed are in CAD not USD. So $30,000 USD would make sense with
the $45,000 CAD

We've heard, I don’t think that site is very trustworthy though. Check out
the legacy turbo threads on Nasioc for more details.

As someone else pointed out they list the "Impreza WRX STi with just 207 hp"
which is completely wrong. The standard version of the WRX makes more HP
than that in its weakest form (us).

I think they planned on releasing a twin-turbo Legacy
using the H6 engine in Japan in 2004. I haven't heard
anything recently and know it would be an EXTREMELY
tight fit in the current layout but it may be
possible. I'm pretty sure this would be a model we'd
never see in the states. But then again I would have
never predicted the US to get the most powerful WRX
STI made. HAHA all you overseas guys. :) We had to
wait almost ten years to get a WRX but after only two
years we now get the fastest.

What model STI are you getting? If you don't have 100RON fuel then it is
definitely not as good as the domestic models.
