Feeler FS: '93 ss 5MT

Post by 93Leg-c »

Hi everybody,

Does anyone want to buy a black '93 ss 5MT, 165K?

Here's the situation: A guy sold this car to another guy who drove it to AZ, got pulled over by the police, and impounded the car (he was driving without a license). The new owner decided not to get the car back and since he didn't finish making payments on it, the title reverted back to the former owner who lives out of state. The former owner really doesn't want to make the trip to AZ so he's wondering if I'd like to buy the car.

As much as I'd like to have a 5MT ss, it just won't fit into my life right now (I need a wagon to carry work-related stuff). So, if anyone wants to buy it, I'm willing to see if I can help you out with it.

So far, this is how the expenses stack up: $150 to police department to release the car. Then there is the fee to get car out of impound --$14 each day the car is in impound (I don't know what the running total is right now). Estimated charges is probably about $250 or more if done soon. If the car stays at the impound for the month, the impound guy told me on the phone that the cost would be $700 to release it. Then the cost to buy the car, probably negotiable. Then the cost of shipping unless you pick it up.

The owner has to sign over title to me for me to even view the car at the impound, which means I have to buy the car from him before I can even see the car. I always like to see the car before I consider buying it but I don't have that luxury in this case. I've got some pics of the car but they are all less than adequate since they were taken with a low-res phone camera (I think). Interior seems to be in decent to good shape. I don't have any pics of the engine. If you'd like to see pics I have I'll need your email address.

I do know that the driver's front directional light is missing and that fender is dented as well as the same corner on the hood. Other than that, it's hard to make out anymore details. There is an exhaust system that the no-longer-owner-guy installed but I don't know what it is.

Time is of the essence here so if anyone is interested, let me know right away. Please let me know what you'd be willing to pay for a sight unseen ss. I imagine if you're willing to spend $1600-$1800 the ss would be yours (but this is just a guess because there may be other factors that haven't been revealed to me yet). If there are no offers that would cover all expenses then I won't pursue getting the car but if there are legitimate offers, I'm willing to help the best I can.

damn, I would kill for a black SS, but unemployment doesn't really support toy money :(
