WRX engine mount

Post by KAI YANG »

Hi..
Has any one try to use a WRX engine mount on Turbo Legacy? and
will new engine mount reduce the engine vibration and noise?
I have 150,000 miles on my turbo Legacy, and some people had
suggest that with a new set of engine mount, it will run alot
quieter and smoother, like new. so, what do u all think?
thanks.

If you want mounts.....just get some sti ones.......I don't think they
are an end all solution for a poor running engine though.

Kai,
If you want your car to run smoother and quieter DO NOT get the STI engine
mounts. These mounts are performance oriented and will probably make cause u
more vibration that what you presently have. I installed STI mounts in my car
about 6 mths ago and I'm still not used to the extra vibration especially off
idle. Sometimes I think the car is gg to stall! Besides idle there is a
engine shake at exactly 2000 RPM that annoys me. If I'm cruising and the car
is at 2000 RPM I find myself speeding up a little just to smooth it out the
engine. So if u can't live with these drawbacks I suggest u stick with the OEM
liquid filled engine mounts. I don't know anything about the WRX mounts.
