DBA 644 rear rotors, will this fit?

Post by LewisR »

I've got a set of rear rotors, DBA644 for my 08 Legacy 2.0R ( naturally aspirated engine) (note: Im not based in the US, and this model was not sold in US)
I selected the discs based on the dimensions shown in the DBA's catalogue (266mm dia, 10mm thick, 67.5mm height)

However when I received the discs I noticed that the HAT of the DBA's discs have two sections of different diameter. My subaru OEM rear discs have a HAT of constant diameter.

and later after trying to find what went wrong I found this drawing

Now, assuming the dimensions are the same between OEM and DBA (rotor dia, thickness, total height) , do you guys think I will be able to fit the discs even If the hat shape is slightly different? will it interfere with the hand brake?

I found a great post about brakes named "Compiled brake information", but it shows no special comments about the different hats. I hope that means that the important aspect is the overall dimensions.

any advice will be greatly appreciated
I'll try to get advice from a specialized garage soon, but I would like to get advice from subaru owners.

thanks,
Lewis

So what you're saying is that your stock rotor does not have that step in it like the dba rotor?

What my thoughts are is that the step down is for the smaller R160 rear end. The larger sized rotor without the stepdown may be for the R180 rear end. That is just a guess....and I could be wrong.

Could you just pull off the stock rotor to see if they would fit? Not sure if you have a garage or not. That may be the easiest thing to do.
