"The living dead" as this car was junkyard bound when I got it. It had a drivers side clunking CV joint when I got it, along with oil leaking from every seal possible. When I did the timing belt, cam seals, crank seal, cam o-rings and valve cover gaskets, the seals were no longer like rubber but more plastic as I had to break them out. I then installed an SS trunk lid and some Forester XT wheels. I have turbo SS struts and brakes to go on along with a turbo cross member. All I need is some ej22t heads and all other turbo related stuff.

Thanks, its far from done, just getting started. The corner lights, I just masked off the area and sprayed with the VHT tinting spray.

What a fantastic idea! Those are 16x6.5 like WRX wheels, yes? They look great.

I've got ej22t heads and 2 vf11's sitting on my garage floor. Heads have 200K miles, one of the turbos does as well, the other one has maybe 175k.

I don't want to ship them but if you want them you can have them for $20 for the heads. $20 per turbo. I'm not sure about shaft play as I haven't really examined them.

I also have everything off an EJ22T minus the block. Don't want any of it. Save maybe the oil pan.

I've never liked those wheels in their natural finish, but they are freakin sweeeet in that color. Awesome job on saving the Leggy.

Hey thanks everyone for the comments, yes the wheels are 16x6.5 just like WRX wheels, but unlike WRX wheels, these will clear 4 pot calipers with the printed "subaru". Kimo, I would be happy to come take some of that 22T stuff out of your way. How far north from Portland are you?

What color blue is that? It's like a slate version of the darker blue I have. I like it.

Just a heads up you'll want to get a turbo water pump. I've done exactly what you're planning and I just ground the sh*t out of the exhaust manifold to clear the water neck. The end of the radiator hose still touched the exhaust when I was done. It's do-able but I'd suggest the turbo water pump (plus lower rad hose) instead.

BTW, nice save. I've got one the same color myself with an SS wing installed, but being in Mn she's getting pretty rusty.

The color is majestic blue poly. It is pretty nice, I just dont like the solid blue interior that comes with it.

Binford cant you just change the t-stat housing if thats all that hits?
Did the exhaust hit or just the heat shield?

I had no heat-shields on the crossover pipe. I had to grind down the flanges where the crossover pipe bolted to the drivers side "head pipe" I suppose you could call it.

You know, now that I think about it I guess the WRX's and newer Legacy Turbos have the T-stat housing coming straight out of the front of the motor rather than down toward the bottom. I havent ever paid attention on the first gen turbo Legacy's as I dont see alot of them. Thanks for the tip, something I wouldnt have thought about.

Thanks but technically its not an SS. Once its turbocharged it will pretty much be an SS without a sunroof.

I added some brakes off an SS the other day, cleaned em up and painted em red.
